Api Nampa Conservation Area


Covering the area of 1,903 km2 in Darchula district of far western region of Nepal, the Government of Nepal declared Api-Nampa Conservation Area. The Api-Nampa conservation area is delineated by Bajhang district border in east, Mahakali River (border with India) in west, border with Tibet, China in north and Lasku and Naugad Khola in south. The declaration came according to the decision taken in the historic Kalapathhar cabinet meeting in the Everest base camp.

Local initiatives

A consultation meeting was held in Darchula districts on 2063.12.11 in the chairmanship of Chief District Officer Mr.Yagya Raj Bohara and among the local participants, representatives were participated from the political parties, Village Development Committees' Secretary, government line agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders.
